Today we release the sixth installment of our “No Loitering” mix series, inviting DJ’s from all over to come to the Barrelhouse and create mixes full of energy and that reflect their musical taste. Featured this month is special guest Kei (@keiopensdoors). Bouncing between the cities of Cleveland, Atlanta, North Carolina & New York; Kei has developed quite the following and is respected for her musical taste as well being able to keep her finger on the pulse of the hip-hop & indie culture. Before we kick it off, Kei had a few words to say below:
“I don’t like to call myself a DJ, I just honestly like to make people nod and dance at parties. Mostly women. As I approach my 30th year on this earth, I wanted to make a mix that feels kinda grown, but not in a hard bottom shoes kind of way. Hope you enjoy it.” – Kei
